Film Permit / Film Visa Steps
Step 1 – visit the nearest Indonesian embassy to you and request to them that you would like to apply for a film permit and C14 visa application for an upcoming production in Indonesia. Please let them know you already have a local production partner named PT Kosong Satu. From there they will give you an application form. This form differs from embassy to embassy so once you have received this from the embassy, please send us a copy. There is one page on this application called “fixer personal history” we will fill this out and send back to you.
While filling out this form this will be used to process the film permit from the film commission in Jakarta. It will include the synopsis / script of what you’re wanting to shoot and ask for producers history (yourself) and short information of each of the people who will be listed on the permit who will be traveling in.
This list of people coming can not be altered later. However, if some people you put on there do not end up coming, that is not an issue, however if at a later point you want to add new names, you will have to start the process over from the beginning in order to add them. So please name all possible people who could be coming.
Also on this application form they will ask to list which equipment you are bringing. Please do not list drones or walkies or else the application will be rejected as they are not allowed to be brought in on this type of visa. However we can provide drones and walkies here in the country.
Step 2 – After we have reviewed your application and approved it, please submit the application back to the Indonesian embassy in Amsterdam
Step 3 – Every Thursday the government has a meeting with the film board to approve or deny any project submitted the week prior. If the paperwork is submitted on a Friday for example it will not be reviewed until the following Thursday. It’s vital to remind your embassy to push the submission to Jakarta as soon as possible.
Step 4 – once your project has been approved by the film commission on a Thursday meeting, the following Monday I will receive your film permit with all crew names listed as per your application.
Step 5 – once I receive the permit I can then use our government login to apply for your visas which take about 5 business days to process. I will send you a list of the items I need per applicant in order to apply for the visa.
Step 6 – once your visas are issued I will send you a PDF of the C14 Film Visa and you can use this to board your flight and enter Indonesia immigration legal and ready to film with our team!
